FATHER AND SON: Raymond Buchheister looks at an oil painting he did of his 7-year-old son, Matthias. The painting is on display with about 50 other pieces of art at the 7th annual Adams County Arts Council Juried Art Exhibit at Schmucker Art Gallery at Gettysburg College. The festival continues today and concludes Sunday.

June 18 – 27 Buchheister’s alla prima painting of his son Matthias will be shown in Adams County Arts Council’s 7th Annual Juried Art Exhibition. The exhibition is located at Schmucker Art Gallery, Gettysburg College and is an event of Gettysburg Festival. http://www.gettysburgfestival.org 

In 2009 Buchheister received a teacher's recognition award from the U.S. Department of Education for his work with his student Peter Ferguson, a 2009 Presidential Scholar of the Arts.
